LARRY GRANT 1948-2017

PAULDING – Larry Grant, age 68, died Thursday, March 16 at the Florida Hospital, Orlando, Fla.

He was born Aug. 1, 1948, the son of the late Charles and Marvel (Cross) Grant. He was an Auglaize Brown High School graduate and was employed as a supervisor by Dana Weatherhead, Antwerp, until 2006, and later retired from Alex Products, Paulding, in 2008. On Jan. 12, 1985, he married Barbara Zuber, who survives. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Vietnam War. He was a member of Defiance AMVETS, Paulding Eagles #2405 and Antwerp American Legion #253. He enjoyed camping, fishing, woodworking, golf, and spending his winters in Florida.

He is also survived by a son, Larry Grant Jr., Defiance; two daughters, Nanette Grant, Lima, and Sheila Grant, North Creek; two brothers, Troy (Wanita) Grant, Defiance, and Harold (Jackie) McDougle, Paulding; three sisters, Patricia (Jr.) Bartley and Shirley (John) Horstman, both of Continental, and Sandy Preston, Grover Hill; nine grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his father, Charles Grant; mother, Marvel McDougle; stepfather, Clarence McDougle; and a sister, Sharon Olds.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 24, at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. Burial will follow in Paulding Memorial Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. Thursday, March 23 at the funeral home and on Friday from 10 a.m. until time of services.
