The Paulding County Progress earned two national writing awards upon entering the Inland Press Association’s Local News Writing Contest. The awards are:

•2007 - Third Place, Inland Press Association local News Writing Contest.Personality/Individual Profile Stories "Twas blind, but now I see: The gift of sight for Nathan

• 2005 – Second place, Inland Press’ local Newsroom Writing Competion
The story which was recognized in the category of Personality and Individual Profile Series was by staff reporter, Nancy Whitaker
• 2004 – Third place, Investigative Reporting – “Bank Embezzlement” – Nancy Whitaker and Melinda Krick
• 2004 – Second place, Personality/Individual Profile Stories – “150-year-old Church” – Nancy Whitaker

The Paulding County Progress is proud to have been honored in the Osman C. Hooper Newspaper Contest at the annual Ohio Newspaper Association convention. The Progress staff has won:

• 2006 – Third Place, In-Depth Reporting - "Tales of Broughton," Nancy Whitaker
• 2004 - First place, Special Sections - “Spring Spectacular”

• 1999 – Third place, Special Sections – “Salute to Paulding County Women”
