Jessica Farr of Paulding was voted the Paulding County Girls Basketball Player of the Year honor for 2011-12 by the Paulding County Progress in voting recently by coaches and media members. Farr was a near unanimous choice for the honor and was joined on the first team by teammate Abby Pease, Antwerp’s Alexis Jones and AJ Stuck along with Wayne Trace’s Krystal Wannemacher and Sarah Feasby. Farr led the Panthers in scoring at 13.8 points per game while pacing the county with 11 rebounds a night. The Panther senior also topped county players in field goal shooting at 59 percent (120 of 205). “She is very deserving of this honor,” noted Panther head coach Lyndsi Shininger. “Jessica comes in early before school to work and stays after practice to do the same.” Farr also posted 21 assists and 39 steals for the maroon and white this year.
