John Paulding Days is sponsored by the Paulding Chamber of Commerce

 

THURSDAY, JUNE 7

 

4-9 p.m. Paulding Kiwanis ribbon fries

Served in front of the Kiwanis Community Center

 

4-9 p.m. Craft Market

in the Kiwanis Community Center on the east side of the square. Over 35 vendors

 

4-10 p.m. Rides, Games & Food Vendors

by D&D Putting & Amusements on the square. Wristbands $15 from 5-10 p.m.

 

7 p.m. Grand Parade

More than 100 floats, marching bands, horses, twirling groups, clowns and candy. This year’s theme is “Party Like It’s the End of the World!” Parade grand marshals are John and Karen Saxton.

 

After the parade (approx. 8 p.m.) until 11 p.m.

Venyx band downtown on the square

$5 entry charge. The Toledo-area cover band “Venyx” plays Top 40, R&B, Pop and Rock.

 

FRIDAY, JUNE 8

 

Super Senior Day

Donut and coffee $1 for seniors from 8-10 a.m. at Susie’s Bakery

Birthday & anniversary celebration 11:30 a.m. at Paulding County Senior Center (reservations: 419-399-3650)

Senior Fun Bingo from 1-3 p.m. in the food tent next to Hometown Pizza

“Dogs & Suds” – Complimentary hot dogs, chips and pop for seniors, from 4-6 p.m. sponsored by Paulding County Senior Center Steering Committee

 

Noon-6 p.m. Craft Market

in the Kiwanis Community Center on the east side of the square. Over 35 vendors

 

Noon-10 p.m. Rides, Games & Food Vendors

by D&D Putting & Amusements on the square. Wristbands $15 from 5-10 p.m.

 

Noon-1 p.m. Rip It Fit

Zumba class with Reta Ptak

 

3 p.m. Kim Hohman Dance Works

 

7 p.m. Miss Paulding County Scholarship Pageant

Paulding High School Auditeria, doors open at 6:30 p.m. Twelve young women will vie for the title in the second annual event. Tickets are $5 and are on sale at the door, or from any contestant.

 

8-11 p.m. Rewind band downtown on the square

$5 entry charge. The local band “Rewind” plays all kinds of rock-n-roll that people know and love. Their sets will rewind you back in time.

 

 

SATURDAY, JUNE 9

 

7-11 a.m. Paulding County Hospital Family Health Day

Annual event located at the hospital on Ohio 111 on the west edge of Paulding

 

9 a.m. Gates open for Redneck Games

Preregister for Redneck Games in the chamber tent

 

11 a.m.–1 p.m. Free Guided Nature Walk

Hosted by Better Homes & Garden Club and Master Gardeners, at Black Swamp Nature Center. Meet in the parking lot of the parking lot of the Paulding Ponds, off McDonald Pike. Free tours will be offered at 11 a.m. and at noon by Mark Holtsberry, Doug Dunakin and members of the garden club and Master Gardeners. Open to everyone.

 

11 a.m. Redneck Games

NEW! Are you redneck enough to handle it? Then grab your rebel attitude, Big Bubba Belly, and put your talents to the test. Gates open downtown at 9 a.m. with events starting at 11 a.m. Preregister in the chamber tent. A $2 donation is requested with proceeds going toward beautifying Paulding. List of events: Redneck Horse Shoes; Best Mud Belly Flop; Arm Pit Serenade; Redneck Bowling; Big Bubba Belly Art Contest; Spare Tire Roll; Cow Chip Toss; Haystack dive. The grand prize $150, second prize $75. In the kids category, the grand prize $50 and second prize $25.

Saturday is Kids’ Day

From noon-3 p.m., Sweetcakes Entertainment will be doing face paintings

At 1:15 p.m., the Paulding FFA Chapter is hosting a Pedal Tractor Pull in the Entertainment Zone. This event is FREE!

 

4:30 p.m. Musician Drew Munger to perform

 

5 p.m. Cornhole Tournament

On the courthouse lawn

 

6:30 p.m. Musician Joe Kauser to perform

 

8-11 p.m. Acoustic Concert featuring Daryle Singletary, Ashton Shepherd & Pete Schlegel

Upclose & personal concert with three country singers, downtown on the square. Pre-sale tickets $10. At the door: $12. Tickets available online at www.pauldingchamber.com
