Diggin out of a mess with the help of good samaritans

The doctor who has been so gracious to our family in our native community of Berne was the first to stop that frustrating evening outside of Berne a couple of weeks ago. I was driving down a country road and a car came from the other direction at a fairly good rate of speed.

With the road glazed with ice and covered with blowing snow, my first impulse was to swerve to the right to avoid the potential of possibly sliding into each other.

That may have avoided a collision, but it didn’t prevent me from getting into a mess. The car swerved into the ditch where it was immediately buried in snow beyond recovery.
