| Archers fall at districts |
|
By STEVE MAJOR Sportswriter NAPOLEON – Last Friday night’s match-up between league rivals Antwerp and Edgerton for a Division IV District title figured to be a dogfight and it was. The game came down to the final minute, and unfortunately for the Archers, it was Edgerton that made the big plays when it really counted to take a 35-30 victory. The game was close throughout, with neither team leading by more than two points after Antwerp scored the first bucket of the third quarter. Antwerp senior Logan Lucas nailed two free throws with 1:39 remaining in the fourth quarter to tie the game at 29 all. But Edgerton’s Broody Flegal responded with a jumper to re-claim the lead for the Bulldogs.
