By NANCY WHITAKER Progress Staff Writer PAULDING – On Saturday, May 14, Paulding will be celebrating the grand opening of the Lela McGuire Jeffery Park. The park is mostly the result of the generosity of the late Lela McGuire Jeffery. Who was this lady who bequeathed so much of her estate to charity? Lela Corwin was born June 19, 1906 in Paulding, the daughter of Forman and Nancy Corwin. There was a total of eight children in the family – two boys and six girls.
