The Spice Rack

By Dorotha Schaefer

Today there is word from one of our southern states as to the way a job is handled. It is not an easy one – school nurse for a lively bunch of children. Being a lady with an unusual sense of humor helps to make the position a fun one.

Armed with a make-believe magic wand tipped with a shiny star, she can instantly cure any number of imagined ailments after she checks each one for real or imagined trouble.

Another “cure” that is often effective is the magic dance performed with energy and imagination. Also the child with the complaint gets out of the classroom for a time. It is said that a cure performed by the new school nurse is a pleasant one for patient and performer.
