Krouse steps aside after 29 years with Payne Fire Department

Feature Writer

PAYNE – Payne Fire Chief Dave Krouse, who has served as the town’s chief for the past 16 years, is stepping aside from his responsibilities, citing health reasons.

“I am not quitting, I am just stepping aside,” Krouse said. “This is a hard decision; these guys (Payne firemen) are like a family to me. They are hard working. They really care about the people of this town.”
