In last week’s Penny I discussed some of the bad manners we sometimes let become “the norm” in our everyday lives.

Perhaps I am old fashioned, but I love to see a man with good manners. I love to observe a man opening a car door for a lady, helping her with her coat or pulling out her chair.

“You’ve come a long way, baby” used to be part of a TV commercial. In fact it was a commercial for Virginia Slims cigarettes. Women have came a long way during the past century, but not too far to appreciate good manners.
