WILLITZER

PAULDING – The Paulding Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors has selected Erika Willitzer as its next director.

Willitzer brings with her over 15 years of communication and marketing experience. She holds a B.A. in communications-journalism from The University of Akron in Ohio. Willitzer grew up in northwest Ohio and has been a resident of Paulding County for six years.

Most recently, she was the news anchor for Fort Wayne’s Morning News on Newstalk 1190 WOWO, and she’s currently the “Meijer Mom” spokesperson for all the Meijer stores in Fort Wayne.

In addition to those duties, she also has consulted with many small businesses developing focused marketing campaigns that bring in impactful results. She also has an extensive background in graphics and web design.

As chamber director, Willitzer will be reaching out to area businesses. When asked about what she’s looking forward to most in this new role, she said, “I’m most excited about building new relationships and expanding upon the great foundation that already exists within Paulding’s business community.”

Willitzer also added that she hopes to lend herself to the community as a resource, offering solutions and giving insight to local leaders when it comes to using social networking and new technology.

“We are so very pleased and excited to have Erika as our new director,” said chamber board chairman Melinda Krick. “Within the first five or 10 minutes of her interview, our search committee knew it had found the right person for the job. She has a winning combination of professional experience and personal qualities that we believe will greatly enhance the Paulding Chamber and benefit all our members.”

Regarding her personal life, Willitzer is a mother of three daughters and her husband, William Willitzer, is a carpenter for the Carpenter’s Union Local #232.

One of her ongoing goals is to do work that has a greater purpose and to conduct herself in a way that will make her family proud. When asked how this new position will reflect that notion she said, “While I have loved working in Fort Wayne, I’m thrilled to work in the county I live in and love. I’m especially proud to work for Paulding County because I believe wholeheartedly it has so much to offer.”

Willitzer began her new duties at the chamber office on Tuesday, Sept. 6, training with interim director Kim Sutton.

Willitzer will be part of the chamber’s annual fall golf outing on Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Auglaize Golf Course. For information on joining this event, call the chamber office at 419-399-5215 or email pcoc@paulding-net.com

Chamber members also will have an opportunity to meet the new director at a chamber Business After Hours from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 22 at the new Paulding-Putnam Electric Cooperative on McDonald Pike in Paulding.
