Nancy Eagleson memory walk to be annual event

Progress Staff Writer

PAULDING – It was a cold, clear night last Saturday as approximately 50-60 walkers made the trek from the old movie theater to the St. Paul Lutheran Church to remember and commemorate the 1960 murder of teen Nancy Eagleson. The 14-year-old was abducted, raped and murdered by an unknown assailant and the crime has never been solved.

Aided by flashlights and candles, warm jackets and hats, the group stood near the old theater while Greg Bibler, pastor of the First Christian Church, gave an opening prayer to begin the walk.

Jeanne Windsor and Merrill Eagleson Miller coordinated the Nancy Eagleson memory walk which is set to become an annual event.
