CIC hires developer for 24/49 interchange

ANTWERP – The Antwerp Community Improvement Corporation hosted a public meeting Monday, Dec. 12 in the high school auditeria. More than 80 people were in attendance for the meeting that may prove to be the starting point of some serious development at the U.S. 24 and Ohio 49 interchange just south of Antwerp.

The Fort to Port project is scheduled to have U.S. 24 open as a four-lane limited access highway from Fort Wayne to Toledo sometime next year. There are currently two U.S. 24 interchanges, one in Defiance County and one in Henry County, that are partially developed, but none in Paulding County. The interchanges in Defiance and Henry provide travel essentials of fuel, food and lodging.
