2 Marion men charged in death of Amy Aldrich

From The Marion Star

UPDATED | MARION -- Two men have been arraigned in connection with the Feb. 8 shooting death of Paulding County resident Amy Aldrich.

Raymond Bertuzzi, 28, last known address 148 Garden St., Marion, is charged with one count of aggravated murder.

Bo Cook, 25, last known address 379 Commercial St., Marion, is charged with two counts of complicity to aggravated murder.

Cook is Aldridge's ex-husband. He had been detained by police as a person of interest in Aldridge's shooting death and was held on unrelated charges until he bonded out of jail.

On Thursday, Judge Teresa Ballinger set bond for both suspects at $2 million, cash or corporate.

Cook sat calmly while the judge read the counts to him, putting his hand to his mouth once. Bertuzzi told the judge that he wanted to pass on his bond.

The maximum penalty on charges for both suspects ranges from life with possibility for parole after 20 years to the death penalty. Each charge carries a $250,000 fine.

A preliminary trial is set for Feb. 23 in Marion Municipal Court. If the suspects waive that, the charges will go to the prosecutor and then to the grand jury, a court representative said.

“The family is more at ease now,” said Brenda Cook, Aldrich's aunt. “We have been in turmoil since this happened. Our hearts have been ripped out of our chests. We can feel our hearts beating again because justice is being served.

“We know we are getting justice. Amy is getting justice.”
