WAYNE TRACE 10, TINORA 0 Kaleigh Young tossed her first career no-hitter to lead the Wayne Trace Lady Raiders to a 10-0 win over Tinora in Green Meadows Conference softball action Thursday night. Young struck out seven Ram hitters and didn’t issue a walk as the red, white and blue moved to 7-3 overall and 2-1 in the league. “Kaleigh threw the ball well”, noted Wayne Trace head coach Nikki Staten. “She did a great job tonight and that is what she is capable of.” The Raiders scored three runs each in the third and fourth innings and added four more in the fifth to seal the 10-0 victory. Wayne Trace pounded out a dozen hits, led by Addison Baumle with two doubles and a single. Sarah Feasby also had two doubles and Chelsea Critchfield chipped in a pair of singles. “We did a good job offensively and came up with the big hits,” commented Staten. “Overall, it was a good game tonight for us.” Emilie Linder also had a single and a double for the red, white and blue. Mackenzie Swary added a double with Molly Crosby and Brenda Feasby recording singles. Allison Cereghin suffered the loss for the Rams, striking out one and walking one. VAN WERT 6, PAULDING 4 VAN WERT 7, PAULDING 2 Paulding dropped a doubleheader to Van Wert in non-league action on Saturday as the Cougars posted victories of 6-4 and 7-2. Kristen Beck suffered both losses, giving up eight hits and walking two in game one before allowing 11 hits and one walk in the second tilt. Beck posted seven strikeouts in the first contest and followed that up by striking out eight in game two. The Panther hurler also led the maroon and white at the plate, ripping a pair of singles and a double in game one. Amber Simpson also had a single and a double in the game. Alyssa Shelmadine had two singles to lead Paulding in game two. O-G 4, WAYNE TRACE 3 Wayne Trace dropped a 4-3 decision to Ottawa Glandorf in 10 innings on Saturday. The Raiders led 1-0 entering the top of the seventh before the Titans rallied to tie it at 1-1. Ottawa Glandorf then picked up three runs in the top of the 10th and held off a Wayne Trace rally for the victory. Addison Baumle suffered the loss, allowing six hits while striking out nine. Libby Stabler had a pair of singles for the red, white and blue. Baumle (single), Emilie Linder (single), Mackenzie Swary (single), Sarah Feasby (single), Lyndsay Combs (single), Bailey Bergman (single) and Chelsea Critchfield (single) also had hits for Wayne Trace. ANTWERP 13, LINCOLNVIEW 2 Antwerp recorded a 13-2 win over Lincolnview in non-league play on Friday. Harlee Hudson picked up the victory, giving up five hits and three walks while fanning three. Cheyenne Miller Sweet had two singles with Tricia Smalley, Alex North and Avrial Sawyer chipping in a double each. PARKWAY 5, PAULDING 1 Paulding fell to Parkway 5-1 in action on Friday in Rockford. Beck suffered the loss, allowing nine hits and two walks but posted two strikeouts. W.TRACE 10, CONTINENTAL 0 Wayne Trace recorded a 10-0 non-league win at Continental Friday night as Molly Crosby struck out 14 Pirate hitters to pick up the win. Crosby scattered three hits and a walk to get the victory. Emilie Linder had three hits for Wayne Trace with Kaleigh Young, Mackenzie Swary, Sarah Feasby, Libby Stabler, Chelsea Critchfield and Crosby adding two each. Bailey Bergman also had a single for the red, white and blue. PAULDING 14, JEFFERSON 0 Paulding posted a 14-0 win over Delphos Jefferson in Northwest Conference action as Kristen Beck struck out four and scattered four hits and two walks. Kayla Owens had three hits for the Panthers with Jerika Bland, Beck and Breana Schmidt adding two hits a piece. Mesa Pracht also had a double for the maroon and white. FAIRVIEW 3, ANTWERP 2 Alex Keesbury recorded 11 strikeouts and outdueled Antwerp counterpart Jayla Chamberlain as Fairview recorded a 3-2, 12-inning victory over the Archers. Keesbury gave up five hits and five walks but limited the blue and white to two runs. Corinne Gebers had three singles for the Apaches and Meagan Johns added two hits. Stuck recorded a double and a home run for Antwerp. Chamberlain fanned a dozen Apache hitters and gave up eight hits and seven walks in the loss. CRESTVIEW 15, PAULDING 1 Crestview rolled to a 15-1 win over Paulding in NWC play. Owens had a pair of singles for the only Panther hits of the night. Beck allowed ten hits and six walks while fanning five in defeat. MONTPELIER 5, PAULDING 2 Montpelier rallied from an early 2-0 deficit by scoring one each in the third and seventh while getting three in the fifth to defeat the Panthers 5-2. Alexis Rue had two singles and a double for the maroon and white with Bland recording two singles. Beck posted five strikeouts and allowed nine hits and three walks in the loss. ANTWERP 10, WAYNE TRACE 4 Antwerp got a single and a home run from AJ Stuck as well as two singles and a double by Alex North as the Lady Archers rolled past county and Green Meadows Conference rival Wayne Trace, 10-4. Jayla Chamberlain got the victory for Antwerp, posting seven strikeouts while walking one and allowing seven hits. Tricia Smalley, Avrial Sawyer and Ashlee Smith all had hits for Antwerp as well. Sarah Feasby had two singles for the Raiders with Emilie Linder (single), Bailey Bergman (double), Libby Stabler (single), Kaleigh Young (single) and Molly Crosby (single) adding hits.
