HICKSVILLE INVITATIONAL Antwerp participated in the Hicksville Invitational on Saturday with the Archer boys finishing fifth while the Lady Archers took seventh. Evergreen won the boys’ meet with 118 points followed by the host Aces (102.5), Edgerton (73), Hilltop (66) and Antwerp (62.5). Zach Dunlap won the discus for the Archers with a toss of 149-2 to claim the lone Archer championship. In the girls’ portion, Edon took first with 141 points with Evergreen second at 125 and Edgerton third with 109. Hicksville (70), North Central (29), Hilltop (24), Antwerp (16) and Fayette (10) completed the field. Bailee Sigman took second in the 800 run and Ellise Wetli finished second in the 400 dash. ANTWERP IN QUAD MEET Ayersville posted a quadrangular meet win over Antwerp, Ottoville and Stryker in recent girls’ action. The Lady Pilots posted 97 points followed by the Big Green at 78, Stryker with 54 and Antwerp with 16. Bailee Sigman (800 run, second), Megan Slattman (long jump, third) and Ellise Wetli (400 dash, fourth and 200 dash, fifth) placed individually for the blue and white. Slattman, Sigman, Wetli and Samantha Provines combined to take second place in the 1600 relay while Becky Major, Emily Hamman, Maria Bradbury and Julia Balser put together a third place finish in the 400 relay. Ottoville won the boys’ meet with 96 points while Ayersville (71.5), Antwerp (58.5) and Stryker (29) completed the field. Kip Salas won the 400 dash in 56.4 and Colin Krick captured the 3200 run in 11:20.8. Zach Dunlap also took first in the discus with a toss of 140-5. Other placers for Antwerp were Cody Knapp (discus, fifth), Brandon Dunderman (shot put, second), Dunlap (discus, fourth), Troy Womack (long jump, third and high jump, second), Krick (1600 run, second), Isaac Reinhart (1600 run, fifth), Salas (200 dash, second) and Austin Stout (800 run, fifth). WAYNE TRACE IN DUAL MEET Fairview’s boys and Wayne Trace’s girls posted victories in a dual meet. The Lady Raiders recorded a 66-60 win over the Apaches. Picking up first place finishes for the red, white and blue were Gina Sinn (1600 run), Rylee Zartman (400 dash), Abigail Shepherd (800 run), Erin Jewell (long jump) and Krystal Wannemacher (high jump). Fairview cruised to an 85-43 victory over Wayne Trace in the boys portion. Arlen Stoller won the 1600 and 3200 runs and Wesley Goings captured the 300 hurdles for the Raiders. Ryan Kortokrax also took first in the shot put and discus for the local squad.
