With the calendar turning to May this week, it also means it is time for sectional baseball tournaments to start with tournament play beginning on Saturday.

Paulding will open its sectional action on Saturday with a 1:30 p.m. contest at Archbold against Evergreen. The winner of the Panther-Viking contest gets second seeded Fairview on May 9 at 7 p.m.

The other half of the bracket has Liberty Center taking on Delta at 11 a.m. on Saturday with that winner advancing to play the host Blue Streaks on May 9 at 4:30 p.m.

At Patrick Henry, the host Patriots will play Wayne Trace in a semifinal contest Saturday at 2:30 p.m. The victor returns on May 9 for a 5 p.m. battle with Liberty Benton.

Swanton and Van Buren tangle on Saturday at 12 p.m. for the right to play Ottawa Glandorf on May 8 at 5 p.m.

Antwerp will participate in the Division IV sectional at Crestview High School where the Archers tangle with Lincolnview on Saturday at 11 a.m. The winner takes on the host Knights on May 9 at 5 p.m.

Fort Jennings plays Ottoville in the other semifinal on Saturday at 2 p.m. with the victory playing Spencerville on May 11 at 5 p.m.
