United Way celebrates 20 years

By JIM LANGHAM

Feature Writer

It was May 7, 1992, when incorporation papers were filed on behalf of what became known at the time as the Paulding County United Way.

Melinda Krick was hired as the part-time executive director and David Kennedy was serving as the acting chairman. Later that fall, the newly formed organization held its first campaign.

The first board of directors consisted of Kennedy, Mike Arend, Louise Miller, Robert Glancy, Karen Gray, Tom Parrett, Gene Olwin, Randy Swary, Trent Flaugh, Ken Lighthill and Wayne Stoller.
