Lady Archers take sectional crown

EDON – Antwerp rallied from an early 1-0 deficit with four unanswered runs as the Archers claimed a sectional softball championship with a 4-1 victory over host Edon.

Jayla Chamberlain scattered four hits and three walks while fanning four to lead Antwerp to the win. AJ Stuck had a home run while Tricia Smalley ripped a triple to pace the Archer offense. Ann Reinhart also had two singles for the blue and white.

In Division III action at Archbold, both Paulding and Wayne Trace dropped their respective sectional contests.

The Panthers fell to Tinora 6-4 as the Rams scored five times in the third inning and held off a late Panther rally.
