Senior Center to sponsor second annual car show

Progress Staff Writer

PAULDING – The Paulding County Senior Center will be hosting their second annual car show from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday Sept. 9, with registration beginning at noon.

The show will be held on Jackson Street on the square and be shown on both sides of the street. The event is being planned with the expertise of Cindy Kennedy, who is the program manager for the center.

“Last year there were 67 cars in the show,” said Kennedy, “and we are hoping for 100 this year.”

The cost to pre-register a car is $8. If you register the day of the show, the cost to enter is $10. However, a person can register up until 2 p.m. the day of the show.

The top 25 cars will receive winner plaques; goodie bags and dash plaques will be presented to the first 50 cars registered.

There will also be door prizes awarded hourly for registered car owners. A silent auction, with some great gifts, will available for  everyone to participate in as well as a 50-50 drawing. In addition to the car show, the senior center will be serving walking tacos, grilled bologna, hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, and pop and water.

C&R Sounds mobile D.J. will be spinning the tunes as people look at the cars in the show. The music will “carry you back to the good old days.”

There will also be a commemoration  held at noon in remembrance of the victims that lost their lives on Sept. 11, 2001.

Portable restrooms will also be on site for the public’s convenience.

For more information call Cindy or Marsha at 419-399-3650.

Winning plaques are the results of many sponsors.
