Should the county emergency management agency office duties be a separate office?
Fallen police officer receives "final call"

Progress Staff Writer

OAKLAND, Calif. – Members of the Dunakin family have been residents of Paulding County for many years. Chuck and Carrie Dunakin of Paulding raised four sons in Paulding and Chuck served as the county engineer for 30 years.

Their four sons were Chuck Jr., David, Harley and Doug Dunakin. Chuck is now deceased, Harley and Doug still reside in Paulding County and David resides in California.

The Dunakin roots are embedded in this county and this story of David Dunakin and his police officer son, Mark, will connect you to a fateful day in 2009 when four Oakland police officers were killed. One of them was Mark Dunakin, age 40.
