Boys' basketball –

Ryan Kortokrax scored 16 points and Wayne Trace put three other players in double figures the Raiders rolled to a 72-49 win over Lincolnview in the opening round of the Van Wert County Hospital Tip Off Classic at Van Wert High School.

Dalton Sinn added a dozen markers for Wayne Trace with Grady Gudakunst chipping in 11 and Corbin Linder adding ten. Gudakunst and Kortokrax each picked up seven rebounds for the Raiders with Sinn dishing out five assists and recording six steals.

Paulding jumped out to a 13-5 first quarter lead and extended it to 26-17 at the halfway mark to mount a lead that Continental couldn't overcome to claim a 61-49 victory in their first game of the year.

Midway through the final stanza, Continental managed to close in on Paulding's lead, 56-42, but significant free throws by the Panthers' Kyle Kauser and a quick steal and score by Lance Foor gave the local squad a 60-46 lead, enough to claim victory at the final buzzer.
