By JOE SHOUSE Sportswriter ANTWERP – The Paulding Lady Panthers opened their 2012-13 campaign on the road at Antwerp last Tuesday and in a competitive early season match up, turned back the Lady Archers, 44-38. In the first half, neither team could get the upper hand with the Archers leading 6-5 after the initial eight minutes of play. The second quarter had Paulding regaining the lead slightly 16-15 at intermission. Senior Abbey Edwards lead the Paulding scoring attack in the second quarter after being shut out in the first. Edwards drilled a couple of 3-pointers and followed it up with a two-point goal to put the Panthers up 13-8. Antwerp kept it close with a couple of nice shots from senior Alexis Jones and a long field goal from Avery Braaten to tie the score at 14 a piece.
