Sports roundup for Monday, Dec. 10

Boys basketball –

The Paulding Panther boys got back on track in a big way at home in a rare Monday game with an 80-31 romp over Montpelier on Monday night.

The victory lifted Paulding back into the win column with a 3-2 record while Montpelier dropped to 1-3. The win came prior to the Panthers' first Northwest Conference encounter on Friday night at Allen East.

Girls basketball -

In a non-league battle Monday night, Wayne Trace’s girls basketball struggled throughout the night in a 49-41 loss at Liberty Center.

The Lady Raiders were only 14 of 71 from the field (20 percent) and committed 27 turnovers on the night. Erin Mohr scored nine points to lead Wayne Trace and Krystal Wannemacher chipped in eight.

Wayne Trace returns to action Tuesday evening as the Raiders host county rival Paulding.
