Sports roundup for Saturday, Jan. 5:

Boys basketball -

Antwerp defeated Stryker in non-league play on Saturday night 48-31. Derek Smalley tallied 13 points on the night with 11  coming in the fourth quarter. Also in double digits for the winning Archers was Braeden Hormann who totaled 11.  The 6-4 Archers will be on the road this Thursday at Tinora.

 

A 19-3 run by Paulding early in the game spurred the Panther boys to a 61-40 win over Parkway in non-league action at home on Saturday night. Paulding's record improved to 8-2 overall. Lance Foor and Kyle Kauser each contributed 16 points for the home team. All eyes now turn to Columbus Grove on Friday where the Panthers will take on the tough Bulldogs in a key league game. The local squad will then return home on Saturday to play the up and coming Fairview boys.

 

On Saturday, the Wayne Trace Raiders cruised to a 63-29 victory at Edon in non-league boys basketball action. Grady Gudakunst scored 15 points with Corbin Linder and Nick McClain bucketing ten markers each. Dalton Sinn (eight), Devin Wenzlick (seven), Colby Speice (six), T.J. Blackmore (three), Ryan Kortokrax (two) and Jake Arend (two) completed the scoring.
