Boys basketball -
Wayne Trace recorded a pair of wins as the Raiders move to 9-1 overall and 2-0 in the Green Meadows Conference with victories over Holgate and Delphos Jefferson.
The Raiders defeated the Tigers 39-29 to move to 2-0 in the league and stay tied atop the standings with Edgerton. Grady Gudakunst bucketed 15 points to lead the Raiders while Nick McClain added eight and Dalton Sinn chipped in seven. Colby Speice paced Wayne Trace on the boards with six.
On Saturday, the red, white and blue outscored host Delphos Jefferson 29-2 in the third quarter en route to a 69-37 victory over the Wildcats. Gudakunst again topped the Raiders with a dozen markers while Ryan Kortokrax and Corbin Linder bucketed 11 each. Speice and McClain chipped in 10 markers a piece for Wayne Trace.
Paulding boys lost a 56-52 overtime Northwest Conference heartbreaker at Columbus Grove on Friday night. The teams were tied at 48 at the end of regulation play, but the Bulldogs outscored the Panthers 8-4 in OT to claim the win. Lance Foor led all scorers for the game with 20 points. Paulding's record now stands at 8-3 overall and 2-1 in league play.
Girls basketball –
Tinora 53 Antwerp 31. Tinora held a 22-12 lead at halftime but exploded in the third quarter outscoring the Arhcers 25-8. The Lady Archers got 15 points from Alexis Jones who led all scorers.
