Sports Roundup Saturday, Feb. 9

Boys basketball –

Antwerp 62 Edon 51.Antwerp invited the Edon Bombers to the Range for the Archers’ final home game of the season. But in the early going it was Antwerp’s Derek Smalley who was delivering the “bombs” in quick fashion. Smalley totaled 15 points in the first quarter and ended the night with 23 to lead the Archers to a 62-51 home court win.

Wayne Trace 56 Crestview 55 OT. Two very good rival basketball teams. Two very devoted fan bases and student sections. And even four extra minutes to enjoy it. Wayne Trace and Crestview hooked up in a classic high school basketball game and traded runs, great plays, physical plays and strategic changes. However, when the final buzzer rang after 36 minutes, it was the host Raiders that avenged an early season loss with a 56-55 thrilling overtime win over the Knights.

Wrestling –

The Panthers participated in the Rossford Invitational on Saturday and came home with a second place finish. Placing first were Kage Seal at 106, Taylor Deatriack at 126, Zack Wesley at 132, Ryan Schindler at 182 and Tyler Ash at 220.
