Boys basketball -

Wayne Trace 70 Ada 45. Saturday night, Corbin Linder hit 10 treys to set the individual game record on his way to 32 points to lead the Raiders to a 79-45 victory over visiting Ada.

 

Paulding 58 Bryan 38. Coach Shawn Brewer said that his squad put together one of its best defensive efforts in recent times to hold the Golden Bears to 38 points in a critical win. Lance Foor led the squad in scoring, dropping 21 points through the hoops at Bryan.

 

Antwerp 50 Hilltop 46. The Archers were in a battle all night against a team that had won just three times, but was able to squeak out a 50-46 win to sweep their doubleheader weekend. Braeden Hormann scored his team’s final seven points to clinch the win.

 

Sectional wrestling -

 

Twelve county wrestlers and possibly two alternates have qualified for districts this Friday and Saturday.

At the Div. III sectionals at Archbold, Paulding placed fourth, after a 12th place finish last year. The Panthers have five qualifiers and one alternate for districts and nine sectional placers this year, compared to one qualifier and one alternate in 2012. Antwerp also placed one wrestler, who will compete at districts at Bowling green

At the Div. III sectionals at Lima, six Wayne Trace wrestlers plus one alternate won the right to advance to districts. As a team, they finished in third place behind runner-up Coldwater and sectional champs Lima Bath. Districts will be held in Kettering.
