Should the county emergency management agency office duties be a separate office?

458 ZIP mail to be processed in Columbus

Mail from ZIP codes beginning with “458” will no longer be processed in Toledo, but rather in Columbus. This started this year on July 8, the U.S. Postal Service said.

Several years ago, the Postal Service closed its Lima processing center, sending mail from the region to Toledo.

In 2012, the agency announced it was consolidating further and planned to move Lima area mail from Toledo to Columbus.

On July 1, Senators Sherrod Brown and Rob Portman and Congressmen Bob Latta and Marcy Kaptur sent a letter to the Postmaster General, asking for a delay in closing the Toledo Processing and Distribution Center, due to concerns that it could cause delays in mail delivery and not produce projected cost savings.

Persons experiencing delivery problems should contact the Postal Service’s customer service number 1-800-ASK-USPS (275-8777) or visit www.usps.com.
