BOWLING GREEN – The Bowling Green Curling Club is excited to give the residents of northwest Ohio the opportunity to explore the unique sport of curling.
The club is hosting three Learn to Curl open houses at the BGSU Ice Arena (417 N. Mercer Road) on Tuesday Oct. 22 (7-9pm), Oct. 23 (6-10pm) and Oct. 24 (8-10pm).
The cost is just $10 per night and includes all equipment, instruction and the chance to play a short game. Curlers should wear comfortable warm clothes and clean athletic shoes.
With the Winter Olympics just four months away, this is a perfect opportunity to learn one of the most popular sports in the Olympics, and one in which the USA is expected to medal.
According to club vice-president Shannon Orr, anyone can enjoy the sport of curling.
“Curling is a sport that is easy to learn and a challenge to master, making it a great sport for people of all abilities. We welcome people to come out and try curling as an individual, couple or group. Our beginner league will be held on Tuesdays from 7-9 beginning Oct. 29 where we will continue with instruction and put people on teams with more experienced curlers so they can join in the fun of competition as well.”
