He taught a Sunday school class almost his entire adult life. He raised his family in the church and was a great example to his children of a Christian man. Several times he donated a pig to be raffled off at Grover Hill’s summer celebration. Shirley was a homemaker and enjoyed lots of needlework and sewing for her family. She has made several quilts for loved ones and her afghans are being enjoyed by many in the community. She also has donated many of her needlework projects to help raise money for the church or for the community. She worked at the Overall Factory in Van Wert and the Dairy Whip in Grover Hill.

They are enjoying their retirement and love having family and friends come to visit. They love to play Euchre with friends and family when they can.

They give thanks to God for his leading them in their marriage and give him thanks for their health, family and friends.
