ANTWERP – Mr. and Mrs. George Underwood will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary on Aug. 17.

George Underwood and Marjorie Hobeck were married on Aug. 17, 1952, at the Antwerp United Methodist Church by her uncle, the Rev. Frank Stevenson.

The couple has been blessed with four children, Daniel (Jaci), Royce (Carolyn), Stanley, deceased, (Mary Lou) and Connie (Scott) Sampson.

They also have 10 grandchildren, a stepgrandchild and three great-grandchildren.


PAULDING – The Revs. Kim and Cynthia Semran of Paulding will be observing their 40th wedding anniversary this month.

Kim Semran and the former Cynthia Ridner were married by Rev. Johnson on Aug. 19, 1972 at the First Church of the Nazarene in Monroe, Mich.

They are the parents of three children: Stephen and Crystal Semran of Interlachen, Fla., Shaun and Tara Semran of Zanesville and Patrick and Tabitha Skaggs of Hampton, Va. There are five grandchildren.

Kim is the senior pastor at the Paulding Church of the Nazarene and his wife is the associate pastor. Their congregation is honoring them with a surprise trip to Branson, Mo.


LIMA – The Rev. Larry Hopkins and his wife, Sharon, will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary by renewing their vows at 2 p.m. Aug. 19 at the Forest Park United Methodist Church in Lima. An open house until 4 p.m. will follow.

Larry Hopkins and the former Sharon Rasey exchanged vows Aug. 19, 1962 in the former Evangelical United Brethren Church in Bryan during a ceremony officiated by Dr. John Searle, the Rev. Marion Hanover and the Rev. Harry Troutner.

The couple have three daughters and a son: Cheri (Robert) Estle of Oakwood, Lori (Keith) Belcher of Lima, Wendi (Jon) Phillips of Elyria and Dr. Kevin (Connie) Hopkins of North Ridgeville. There are eight grandchildren.

The Rev. Hopkins is retired from 45 years of pastoral ministry with the United Methodist Church. Sharon is retired after 32 years teaching in the public school system.


PAULDING – Mr. and Mrs. Eric Ludwig of Grover Hill announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Brittany Dawn Ludwig, to Reid Jonathan Linder, son of Kim and Sally Linder of Paulding.

The bride-to-be is a 2008 graduate of Wayne Trace High School. She received her bachelor of arts degree in psychology from Bowling Green State University. She is employed at Hopebridge Pediatric Specialists as an administrative assistant.

The prospective groom is a 2006 graduate of Wayne Trace High School. He also attended Bowling Green State University and received his bachelor of science and technology with a degree in visual communication technology. He is employed at Paint the Town Graphics Inc. in Fort Wayne as a graphic designer.

The couple will exchange their vows on Aug. 25, 2012  at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paulding.


ST. MARYS – Karamae Klingler and Kurt Prenger of Raritan, N.J., have announced their engagement and approaching marriage.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Thomas and Lisa Klingler of Oakwood. She is a 2004 graduate of Paulding High School and received her bachelor of fine arts degree in electronic media from the University of Cincinnati in 2008. She is a product entry specialist at Beach Trading Company in Edison, N.J.

Her fiancé is the son of Kenneth and Rebecca Prenger of Minster. He is a 2004 graduate of Minster High School and earned his bachelor of science degree in computer science at the University of Cincinnati in 2009. He is an IT senior analyst at Johnson and Johnson in Raritan, N.J.

The couple will exchange wedding vows at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 22, 2012 during an outdoor ceremony at East Bank Park next to Grand Lake St. Marys in St. Marys.
