Museum’s Festival of Trees continues through Saturday

PAULDING — “Let’s Trim the Tree” is the theme for the annual Festival of Trees at Paulding County History Museum in Paulding_ The festival opened Nov_ 8 and continues through Saturday, Nov_ 16_ It’s not too late to enjoy the meals and local live entertainment on the schedule_ Admission and parking are free_ Donations are greatly appreciated_ The festival is open daily_ Explore 30,000 square feet of holiday trees, displays and decorations in three buildings_ This year, an incredible 90 unique trees – the most ever – have been decorated by local individuals, families, organizations and businesses_ Don’t miss the adjacent Barn 1 and Barn 2, both filled with trees, lights, animated figures, Nativity scenes, inflatable characters and 10 model train layouts_ The festival committee, led by co-chairmen Michelle Stanford and Elizabeth Miller, has been busy planning and preparing for the museum’s largest event and fundraiser of the year_ Museum volunteers started unboxing all the decorations Sept_ 24_ The trees came out of storage on Oct_ 1, thanks to Paulding FFA students _ It takes nearly six weeks to get everything ready to open the doors to more than 1,500 visitors_ Meals and special activities are planned for almost every day_ All meals are by free-will donation. New Agricultural Priorities

As our national elections close, a new Republican administration is taking over with different priorities, so expect some major changes in agricultural policies. The current administration’s priority was on climate smart agricultural policies that helped reduce greenhouse gasses.
