Paulding FFA finishes another year of ag mentoring program at Oakwood

On May 9th, the Paulding FFA Officer Team wrapped up their youth program at Oakwood Elementary. Oakwood Youth for Ag (OYA) is a hands-on learning experience for the sixth graders that helps expand their views on agriculture. Two FFA officers went over to Oakwood each month to teach the students about an agriculture topic each month. Some of these topics they learned about included Livestock, Greenhouse, and Ag Mechanics. This program started in 2023 and has been a successful program, giving a great opportunity for the sixth graders at Oakwood to learn about FFA before they come to Paulding Middle School in their 7th grade year. So this program helps them get a better understanding of the FFA and Agriculture program at Paulding. The goal is that this program will encourage them to sign up for 7th Grade Ag class. The year ended with a mini banquet where each student received a t-shirt, certificate and a popsicle party for the last day of the program. The Paulding FFA Officer team  would like to thank the Paulding FFA Alumni for the financial support of this program for our youth!
