Paulding Eagles and Hawg’s Tavern hosted the 2025 Paulding Block Party, “The Bars Give Back,“ on 20 September. The event with food, Chinese Auction, raffle, live music and pool tournament raised more than $2,700 for Caring & Sharing Food Pantry. Thanks to the organizers, the donors and all who participated. The Paulding County Dog Kennel was a recipient of a generous donation from this event, too.
With the unexpected closing of Buy the Book, I'm reminded of a book I got as a child, how I got rid of it and then how it got back into my personal library.
DEFIANCE – The Maumee Valley Planning Organization (MVPO) has launched a new public survey to gather resident feedback on transportation safety issues across Defiance, Fulton, Henry, Paulding, and Williams County. It’s that time of year again, the Paulding FFA is starting its annual fruit sale fundraiser. The sale kicked off on Thursday, October 9th, and will end on November 3 at 6 p.m., when all orders must be put in the Google form by the FFA member. Our members will be selling citrus fruit, nuts, Ohio apples, BBQ sauce, beef jerky and butter braids. This is one of the Paulding FFA Chapter’s largest fundraisers with all proceeds going to benefit the chapter and its members. We are also offering new items, including pineapples and new flavors of butter braids, as well as all our amazing other products. If interested in buying some fruit or other items, please get in touch with the Paulding FFA Chapter Ag department at 419-399-4656, extension 1170, or one of your local Paulding FFA members. The items will come in and be delivered the week of December 2. We want to thank the community in advance for their continued support of our Paulding FFA Chapter.
With the increasing use of propane for various applications, including winter heating, safety during tank refilling has become a concern. The process of filling a propane tank involves precise measurements and strict adherence to safety codes to prevent dangerous situations.
Fall and Spring are usually the times when farmers or fertilizer dealers take most soil tests to make recommendations for fertilizer applications. In the last several years, most dealers now do that service for their farmer clients. A few years ago, looking at soil test collected over several years, there was a big jump of .5 to 1.0% increase in soil organic matter (SOM) on all these no-till farmers' fields. I started asking questions.

Each fall, Ohio State’s Homecoming traditions invite us to reflect on the communities that shape us. This year, Ohio State Lima once again joined in the celebrations—crowning our own Homecoming royalty, marching in the parade, and standing proudly on the field at the ‘Shoe alongside representatives from every campus. Watching our students represent Lima on that big stage is a powerful reminder that our campus is an essential part of the Buckeye family, simultaneously contributing to the life of the university and to the strength of northwest Ohio.
