PAULDING, OH: Sarah R. Renollet, age 96, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Vancrest of Payne. 

Sarah was born on April 5, 1928 in Paulding County, OH to the late Rily and Betsy (Foltz) Thomas. On September 6, 1947 she married Theodore “Ted” Renollet, who preceded her in death on April 4, 1983. Sarah spent her life creating a loving home for her family and being a proud farm wife. She was an election poll worker for many years, worked in the Paulding School cafeteria, was an honorary member of the Paulding FFA, and a member of the Emerald Township Bunco and Card Club. Sarah also spent her free time volunteering at the Paulding Historical Museum. She was a member of the Paulding United Methodist Church. Sarah enjoyed watching sports, playing a card game with family and friends, and canning food. She will be remembered for her excellent chocolate chip cookies and her homemade pies. 

Sarah will be lovingly missed by her children: Ellen (Don) Hemple, Bowling Green, OH; Kathy (Nancy Marks) Weippert, Lincoln, CA; Alex (Sharon) Renollet, Sherwood, OH; Jane (Sarah LaDuke) Renollet, Phoenix, AZ; Duane (Denise) Renollet, Cecil, OH; Lewis (Pam) Renollet, Bradner, OH; 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. 

Sarah was also preceded in death by her siblings: Kenneth Thomas, Walter Thomas, Leo Thomas, John Thomas, Edward Thomas, Isaac Thomas, Louise Hanenkratt, Betty Lou Goyings. 

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, January 9, 2025 at Den Herder Funeral Home with Pastor Ric Beals officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Jackson Township, OH. 

Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at Den Herder Funeral Home. There will also be visitation from 10:00 A.M. until time of services on Thursday.

Memorial contributions may be made in Sarah’s memory to the Paulding County Historical Society.
