CherryRoad Media is committed to reporting on local news with resident journalists in the communities that we serve.  Our mission is to capitalize on our roots as a technology company to provide innovative media and technology services to our local communities while simultaneously improving the digital experience and engagement of our subscribers.

Who We Are

Our story began in 1983 when the Gulban family started the technology company originally known as DataStudy Inc in New Jersey. A key tenet of DataStudy’s growth strategy was listening to clients. As customers asked us to create new solutions, capacity, and offerings to support their organizations; we developed strategies to help them succeed.  After 20 years of success, we changed our name to CherryRoad Technologies, but our core values and leadership remained unchanged.

Since its founding, CherryRoad Technologies has grown into a highly reputable organization serving thousands of customers across the country.  Our high level of customer service and excellence in creating effective business solutions has translated into years of ongoing success.

In 2020, with the decline in local news investment, CherryRoad’s CEO, Jeremy Gulban, decided to chase his passion for journalism and communication and entered the media world via the inception of CherryRoad Media.  Through a series of acquisitions and newspaper start-up projects, he has quickly grown the company into a reputable, thriving institution.  His enthusiasm for the news industry continues to evolve and his commitment to helping local communities throughout the country has only been strengthened by the relationships he has developed.

About Us

The Paulding Progress has more subscribers in Paulding County, Ohio, than any other newspaper. The Paulding County Progress is a weekly community newspaper that tries to capture the flavor of life here for the diverse readership that calls Paulding County “home.” We care about the county and its people. We care about our customers and their needs.

While there are newspapers that try to include our county in their coverage area, most readers count on the Paulding County Progress for local news and information they can’t get anywhere else. Our staff has won numerous state and national awards for news coverage.

We of course provide detailed coverage of local government meetings and important events and issues, but we also still use two-column society pictures, profile interesting people, and use lots of school pictures and news. We attempt to chronicle not only the life of the community, but also its people. We also publish numerous special interest publications throughout the year, highlighting such topics of local interest as high school graduating classes and academic achievers, high school sports previews, emergency responders, county fair preview, focus on business and industry, baby photos, and local history photos and stories.

We’ve succeeded in establishing a loyal readership. Newsstand sales and subscriptions combine for a total circulation of about 3,400 copies of the Progress each week.

Our newsstands include locations in Antwerp, Broughton, Cecil, Defiance, Five Span, Grover Hill, Hicksville, Melrose, Oakwood, Paulding, Payne, Scott, and Sherwood. [Our coverage area also includes the communities of Briceton, Haviland, Latty, Junction and Mandale.] Our weekly publication has a circulation of 2,370. Our readership is even wider, when you consider that statistics show a newspaper is read by an average of two or three persons per household.
