Anthony “Tony” H. Suffel, age 66, of Defiance passed away Sunday March 9th, 2025 at St. Vincent Mercy Medical Center in Toledo, Ohio.
 Surviving are his wife, Sharla (Shaffer) Suffel, sons, Terry and Justin of Paulding, daughter, Kara of Columbus, Ohio, stepson, Tyler Shaffer of New York City, his father, Bill Romes of Defiance, brothers, Robert (Sharon) Floss Jr. of Urbana, Darriel (Connie) Suffel of Defiance, Randy (Mickey) Suffel of Paulding, and John (Kris) Romes of Defiance, sister, Joyce of Indiana, sister-in-law, Suzanne Shaffer of Wakarusa, IN, and two grandchildren.
 He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn (Schlosser-Romes), sisters, Linda and Janice and brother, David.
 Tony was born August 3, 1958 in Defiance, Ohio, He graduated from Paulding High School in 1978. During his time as a wrestler, he had the most takedowns and was the most improved player in 1974-1975. He received his 3-year award in 1975-1976 and was voted M.V.P. in 1976-1977.
 Tony loved his family and spending time with his wife and with his pets. He enjoyed fishing and was an avid fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was also working on his autobiography. Anyone who met him knew he didn’t know a stranger.
 Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025 from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm at Schaffer Funeral Home in Defiance. A Memorial Service will follow at 12:00 at the funeral home, with Celebrant Deb Miller officiating.
