Archers fall short in opener

ANTWERP – The Antwerp football team won the battle of first downs and total yardage but the Archers came up short on the scoreboard as Montpelier posted a 24-16 victory in the high school football season opener Friday evening.

DEFIANCE, OH – For the second year in a row, Defiance College is poised to welcome a record-breaking class to campus. Weather enhances crop diseases

Some crop diseases are intensifying and being enhanced by current weather conditions. Cool night time temperatures (below 700 F), humid conditions, and wet leaves enhance tar spot in corn. Tar Spot is often helped by August and September weather conditions. Red Crown Rot in soybeans is also being found in Ohio.

One seriously injured in Allen County crash

AMERICAN TOWNSHIP, Ohio – On August 23, 2025, at approximately 8:29 PM, troopers with the Lima Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol were notified of an injury crash on State Route 309 at the intersection of Baty Rd. in Allen County.

First Presbyterian Legacy gifts continue

First Presbyterian Church, Paulding, has been making Legacy Gifts to honor their 50+ year members in this 150th anniversary year. There will be a celebration on Sunday, Sept. 21, with the 10:15 a.m. worship service, a catered lunch (reservations required) and an outdoor music concert in the afternoon.
