ANTWERP – The Antwerp football team won the battle of first downs and total yardage but the Archers came up short on the scoreboard as Montpelier posted a 24-16 victory in the high school football season opener Friday evening.
DEFIANCE, OH – For the second year in a row, Defiance College is poised to welcome a record-breaking class to campus. The excitement builds as the College launches Swarm Week 2025 this Friday, a beloved tradition full of energy, camaraderie, and community spirit. The weeklong series of events not only celebrates the incoming Yellow Jackets but also helps them settle in, make connections, and begin their DC academic journey with a strong sense of community. DEFIANCE - The Defiance Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a serious injury crash involving two vehicles that occurred on August 22, 2025 at approximately 9:43 a.m. The crash occurred on State Route 49 at US 20, Northwest Township, Williams County Ohio.
Some crop diseases are intensifying and being enhanced by current weather conditions. Cool night time temperatures (below 700 F), humid conditions, and wet leaves enhance tar spot in corn. Tar Spot is often helped by August and September weather conditions. Red Crown Rot in soybeans is also being found in Ohio.
