Wayne Trace artists exhibit at three area shows

Throughout the spring, the art students at Wayne Trace High School have been extremely busy showcasing their work around the region. In the Scholastic Art Show which just wrapped up at the Fort Wayne Museum of Art, six Raiders exhibited pieces. Senior Luke Stouffer received a Gold Key and a Silver Key, Junior Axel Bidlack received a Gold Key, Senior Fern Jackson received a Silver Key and an Honorable Mention, Senior Aiden Lee received a Silver Key, Junior Natalie Richie received an Honorable Mention, and sophomore Boston Font received an Honorable Mention. Senior Aiden Lee was also one of only six artists in the entire Northeast Indiana/Northwest Ohio Region to have his portfolio selected for recognition, receiving a Silver Key for his series of works.

WT engineering students visit Dana,Inc.

On Wednesday April 9th, the Wayne Trace High School the students, from Ed Stuart’s Engineering Design Class traveled to Dana Incorporated for a class field trip. The field trip is a requirement for the CTE Engineering Pathway and the purpose of the visit was to expose the students to real world engineering design procedures and processes.

CCAO thanks Ohio House for additional support in many areas of county government

COLUMBUS, Ohio –The County Commissioners Association of Ohio (CCAO) would like to thank the Ohio House of Representatives for preserving many of Governor DeWine’s initiatives in children’s services, child welfare placement cost transparency, regional crisis stabilization centers, indigent defense delivery, increasing the Local Government Fund, and others. Additionally, the House further strengthened the state-county partnership through targeted investments in indigent defense reimbursement to counties, and 9-1-1 funding.

BGSU partners with PCED and hosts grant writing workshop

PAULDING – Lisa Lawson, Project Manager for Bowling Green State University (BGSU) Center for Regional Development (CRD), held a grant writing workshop at the Paulding County Economic Development (PCED) office here. The session empowered 16 local professionals, representing 13 individual businesses, by equipping them with essential skills to navigate the often-complicated world of grants.

Conservative statesman Jim Hoops to run for State Senate

NAPOLEON - State Representative James M. “Jim” Hoops declared his candidacy in the upcoming 2026 election for Ohio’s First District Senate seat, which consists of the northwest Ohio counties of Defiance, Fulton, Hancock, Hardin, Henry, Paulding, Putnam, Van Wert, Williams, and northern portion of Logan. Ohio’s First District Senate seat is currently held by State Senator and President of the Ohio Senate, Robert McColley, who is term-limited and serving his final term.
