VAN WERT – February 24, 2025 – One of the most celebrated voices in contemporary Christian music, Sandi Patty, is set to return to the Niswonger Performing Arts Center on Sunday, March 9th for an unforgettable evening of music. Presented by JoAnn Wolford and supported by Strategence Capital, the office of Tim Stoller, and Erin Laukhoff, this special performance will showcase the powerful vocals and heartfelt artistry that have defined Patty’s legendary career.
Kimmel, Etter and Pumphrey advance to OHSAA State Wrestling tournament
Local wrestlers competed at the Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio for the district tournament for the opportunity to advance to the OHSAA State Wrestling Tournament. Corbin Kimmel, Thor (Stroker) Etter, and Karmen Johnson took position on the podium after the competition. Corbin Kimmel, the 120-pound senior from Wayne Trace, ended as the district runner-up for his weight class. Stroker Etter, the 144-pound sophomore from Paulding, also ended as his weight class runner-up. Kamren Johnson, the 132-pound senior from Antwerp, completed his district tournament in fifth place.

NAPOLEON – An Archbold defense that limited Paulding to six points each in the middle two quarters made enough plays down the stretch to hold off the Panthers for a 52-47 victory in Division V boys district basketball action at Napoleon Thursday evening.

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month
President Ronald Reagan signed a Proclamation on February 26, 1987, to designate March as National Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. The proclamation encouraged Americans to support people with developmental disabilities. The theme for 2025 is “Creating Pathways to Independence”. This theme focuses on helping people with developmental disabilities find opportunities for growth and self-advocacy.
County wrestlers advance to Districts
The Wayne Trace Raiders, Paulding Panthers, and the Antwerp Archers competed at the Lima Central Catholic Sectional Tournament on February 22, 2025. Of the wrestlers in the competition, thirteen wrestlers placed in the top four places of their weight classes to qualify for the district meet on February 28-March 1st at the Hobart Arena in Troy, Ohio.
