The Wayne Trace Wrestling Team was represented by eight wrestlers at the Lima Central Catholic Thunderbird Invitational, which hosts 36 Division 3 schools from across Ohio. Of the eight wrestlers, five advanced to the second day of competition and two finished on the podium.
Over the past several months, students in the Cross-Categorical class at Wayne Trace have been teaming up with senior art students in order to create a beautiful collection of artworks as part of an Art Possible Ohio Adaptation, Integration, and the Arts grant. Under the guidance of local artist Jayne Smith, these students have been inspired to work together and learn a variety of new weaving techniques, from branch weaving and making birds’ nests to fashioning table runners and creating a colorful twelve-foot long fence weaving. In their last studio session together this month, Defiance artist Zoe Smith joined the artistic team as each student learned how to finger weave their very own scarf just in time for the extremely cold weather.
During his inaugural address last week, President Trump claimed he was going to bring God back into the oval office.
The week before saw the Raiders start a string of road games with a loss to Coldwater. Their next game saw them make the relatively short trip to Hicksville to take on the Aces. They took a lead early and refused to let it go.
