Burma J. Coleman 1945-2025

OAKWOOD – Burma J. Coleman, 79, of Oakwood, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at Mercy Health Defiance Hospital. She was born June 30, 1945, in Rockhouse, Kentucky, to the late Frank and Delphia (Vanhoose) Johnson. On March 20, 1962, she married Dallas Coleman, he preceded her in death on August 6, 1991.

Burma is survived by two sons: Ronnie (Jennifer) Coleman of Defiance, and Mark Coleman of Oakwood; a son-in-law: Tim Smith of Oakwood; a granddaughter: Madison “Punky” Coleman; three sisters: Helen (Steve) Scott of Oakwood, Venita (Don) Stewart of Shelbiana, KY., and Gleandean Hamm of Bowling Green; and a brother: Tracy Johnson of Cloverdale.

She is preceded in death by a daughter, Anita Smith; and six siblings.

Burma loved to play Bingo and go to the Blue Grass Opry Barn in Oakwood. She loved spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter “Punky”. Burma had retired from Philips, Ottawa, and had previously worked at KMI, Kalida and Campbells Soup, Napoleon.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, from 3 to 5 p.m. at HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Continental. Burial will be held at a later date.
