Bakers and candy makers from around Paulding County are making more than 50 types of handmade sweets to sell at a one-day-only pop-up shop on Thursday, April 10 to benefit the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry. The Sweet Shop will feature many varieties of chocolates and other candy, 20 types of cookies, an array of pies, yeast and sourdough breads, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes and more.
On Saturday, March 22, the county’s Cub Scouts troops competed in the annual pinewood box derby race. Each den awarded first-place plaques to the winners, who will go on to the council race in April.
The Paulding County Carnegie Library is excited for Spring. Check out what is happening at one or all the branches. The library will close at noon on Good Friday, April 18. The library will be open on Saturday, April 19, during normal hours. National Library Week is April 6 through the 13. VAN WERT - CHP Home Care and Hospice was forced to close their Adult Day Center on Westwood Drive in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that the worst effects have passed, they have not only been open but renovating and expanding their services.
The Kiwanis Club of Paulding County was privileged to have Ashley Shepherd ,(Family and Children First Coordinator, OCTF Coordinator, 21st CCLC Coordinator at Western Buckeye Educational Center),as the guest speaker at the March 13, 2025, club meeting. Ashley came at the invitation of Lora Lyons,(Mayor of Payne, Ohio and fellow Kiwanian).
On Tuesday, March 11, 2025, the Cooper Community Library in Oakwood hosted a Chocolate Extravaganza It’s an annual event with a history of selling out. Attendees were treated to a seemingly unending flow of chocolate treats.
PAULDING – The Paulding County History Museum will hold a general meeting at 1 p.m. Tuesday, March 25. The program will feature guest speaker Frank Butwin from the Maumee Valley Heritage Corridor.
PAULDING – The Paulding County Carnegie Library is pleased to announce it will host its Second Annual Writer’s Conference on Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 9:00 a.m until 4:00 p.m. at the Library. The First Writer’s Conference was held in 2024 and received outstanding reviews, resulting in the Library looking forward to once again offering this program to the community and surrounding area in April, 2025.
