SCOTT - On Sunday, October 5, the Village of Scott hosted a gathering of automobiles, a not-uncommon sight in Paulding County during the fall. What was uncommon was seeing so many in a village of approximately 250 people.

VAN WERT — In less than two weeks, Country music icon Lee Greenwood will take the stage at the Niswonger Performing Arts Center on Friday, Oct. 17. Greenway Bank presents the concert with support from Bruce & Julie Kennedy and JoAnne Wolford.
DEFIANCE - Author and photographer Naomi Chapman will visit Defiance Public Library, 320 Fort St., on Oct. 11 from 10:30 a.m. to noon to share stories of her adventures photographing abandoned and historic places. Chapman is a YouTube content creator who enjoys exploring anything, including cemeteries, abandoned locations, and museums. She will also discuss the process of publishing her books, which include Abandoned Pennsylvania, Abandoned Detroit, and The Alley, among others. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event. This book talk is open to all adults; no registration is required. For more information, contact the library at 419-782-1456.
At 87, soon to be 88 years old, Renate Lichti has no plans to put the brakes on an exercise routine she has made a priority in her life since retiring - cycling.
It was a beautiful weekend to go to a craft sale. The village of Antwerp made a fantastic location for Krazy Krafters' fifth annual sale.
The Paulding High School class of 1965 recently held its 60th class reunion. To celebrate their notable accomplishment and to recognize the service of the 31 classmates who served in the military, they made a generous donation to the Paulding Veterans Memorial.
July and August were fruitful months for fundraising at the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry. Nearly $7,000 was received from a fundraising bus trip to Holmes County, Ohio, and the 127 Yard Sale.
Recently, the Paulding Fraternal Order of the Eagle supported the Paulding Agricultural Education Program through a grant to purchase new workbenches for the agricultural shop area and also to purchase a medium-sized drone for the new capstone class focusing on drones. The workbenches in the agricultural shop were over 25 years old. The benches were worn and falling apart, making it hard for students to have adequate workspace. There are over 130 students involved in the Ag Education program at Paulding who are out in the shop area working on a variety of different projects throughout each school year. The grant funds made it possible to replace four workbench tops, providing students with a safe area to work on their projects.
