May was Mental Health Awareness Month, and the Paulding County Mental Health Coalition (PCMHC) joined with Antwerp Local, Paulding Exempted Village, and Wayne Trace Local schools to raise awareness, fight stigma, and promote access to mental health resources for all individuals in our community.
VAN WERT – This Friday night, Fountain Park will come alive with Let’s Get It On – A Tribute to Marvin Gaye, a dynamic live show that pays homage to the legendary Prince of Motown through the songs you know and love—like “Let’s Get It On,” “What’s Going On,” and many more.
The Age of Learning Educator of the Year Award honors a commitment to guiding students to success. Each of these semifinalists has demonstrated exceptional dedication, innovation, and impact in their teaching practices and communities. Their commitment to inspiring future generations sets a powerful example of what it means to strive for excellence in education.
The Caring & Sharing Food Pantry held two significant fundraising events this spring: the Meijer SimplyGive program in March and the Sweet Shop in April. Together, they generated over $18,000 for the pantry.
Next week’s edition of the Paulding County Progress will have our Fair Review with all of the winners. Since that takes up so much time, we want to share some of the images captured and sent to us.
VAN WERT - This fall, the Niswonger Performing Arts Center will resonate with a powerful blend of classical brilliance and youthful energy as The 5 Browns take the stage on Friday, September 26th at 7:30 PM. Known as “the Fab Five of Classical Music,” this sibling quintet has redefined what it means to be piano prodigies in the modern age. Presented by The Ohio Music Teachers Association and Supported by Roger & Kay Okuley.
VAN WERT — The Van Wert Civic Theatre launched its 2025–26 season by honoring the outstanding work of its performers, directors, designers, and volunteers at the Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet. The evening was a celebration of the community’s talent, creativity and commitment to the arts.
PAULDING - It was a nice week for the most part although early on, overnight rain caused some events to delay and others to cancel. Yet, even Saturday showers couldn’t stop the Rodeo that traditionally closes the Paulding County Fair.
The Kiwanis Club of Paulding County was privileged to have Cathy Ruiz (Admin/Sero Coordinator, Parent Mentor, Western Buckeye,ESC and Paulding County Family & Children First Council), Lindsey Manz( Director of Nursing, Paulding Co Health Department), Anne Dunn( Outreach Coordinator, Tri County ADAMHS Board), as the guest speakers at the May 22, 2025 club meeting. Cathy, Lindsey and Anne came at the invitation of Ron Goedde (CEO Paulding County Hospital). These amazing ladies spoke to the Kiwanians about Paulding County’s No Wrong Door Community Resource Event. The No Wrong Door event is an agency to agency approach within the county departments and community partners to increase awareness of and to direct people to services that best meet their needs.
