YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - Mallory Ehrhart, of Antwerp, majoring in Theatre - Musical Theatre track, has been named to Youngstown State University’s President’s List for achieving a perfect 4.0 grade point average in the Spring Semester 2025.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Today, the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline commemorates three years of service. Since launching in 2022, the Lifeline’s trained specialists have responded to nearly 600,000 calls, texts, and chats from Ohioans experiencing emotional distress or a behavioral health crisis.
Producers and landowners can now enroll in USDA’s Grassland Conservation Reserve Program
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced that agricultural producers and private landowners can now enroll in the Grassland Conservation Reserve Program (Grassland CRP). The sign-up runs from today, July 14, to Aug. 8, 2025. Grassland CRP, offered by USDA’s Farm Service Agency (FSA), is a voluntary working lands conservation program that enables participants to conserve grasslands while also continuing most grazing and haying practices.

Rep. Klopfenstein talks budget, veto overrides
On July 1, Ohio began implementation of its new biennial budget, a 6,000 page document that was approved by the Ohio House April 9 and Ohio Senate June 26 then sent to Governor Mike DeWine to sign on June 27. He signed the budget into law, but not before vetoing 67 lines within it.
Local students named to Youngstown State University Dean’s List
YOUNGSTOWN, OH - The following students from Paulding County were named to the Youngstown State University Dean’s List for Spring Semester 2025. Dean’s List recognition is awarded to full-time undergraduate students who have earned at least a 3.4 grade point average for not less than 12 semester hours of credit in the Fall semester.
Three charged with riot, assaulting driver and passengers
AUGLAIZE TOWNSHIP - On July 12, 2025, deputies responded to an Ohio State Highway Patrol request for assistance with a mob assault on the occupants of a car at 15792 Road 175 in northern Paulding County, in Auglaize Township.
