Five Ohio counties declared primary natural disaster area due to drought, contiguous counties eligible
This Secretarial natural disaster designation allows the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Farm Service Agency (FSA) to extend much-needed emergency credit to farm operators in primary counties and contiguous counties through FSA emergency loan assistance. Emergency loans can be used to meet various recovery needs including the replacement of essential items such as equipment or livestock, reorganization of a farming operation, or to refinance certain debts.
Northwest State Van Wert Campus announces Spring 2025 courses
VAN WERT, OHIO – Your Van Wert Campus of Northwest State Community College is excited to announce the opening of registration for our Spring 2025 semester. Until the Van Wert Campus is fully operational, we have once again partnered with Van Wert Health to host courses starting in January 2025.

Antwerp Depot development moves forward
At the October meeting of the Antwerp Village Council, representatives from the company set to create a marijuana dispensary in the historic Antwerp Depot tried to assuage fears. One councilman made a passionate plea to stop the sale, and council debated the need for the income the dispensary would bring.

Annual Golf Outing raises money for Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program
On August 3, 2024, we held our Annual Cancer Golf Outing at Pike Run Golf Course. Due to the efforts and kindness of many individuals and businesses, we were able to donate $30,000 to the Putnam County Cancer Assistance Program.

The John Paulding Historical Society (JPHS) has an annual tradition of inviting the community to decorate trees and welcome the yuletide season in their museum on Fairground Drive. It’s bursting with holiday spirit and welcoming the holidays in a way only Paulding County can.
