Defiance County Prosecuting Attorney, Morris J. Murray, has released the following information regarding recent Indictments returned by a Defiance County Grand Jury on August 21, 2024: Bernard M. Bates, age 83, 1302 Byrnwyck Ct., Defiance, was indicted for Two Counts of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor, each a Felony of the Second Degree, and Two Counts of Pandering Obscenity Involving a Minor, each a Felony of the Fourth Degree. Authorities allege that from June 23, 2022, through August 8, 2022, Bates created\ reproduced, or published materials showing a minor participating or engaging in sexual activity, and he also possessed obscene materials that had a minor as one of its participants.

She was also convicted of Operating a Vehicle Under the Influence of Alcohol, a Drug of Abuse or a Combination of Them, a Misdemeanor of the First Degree, Also sentenced to prison for Failure to Comply with an Order or Signal of a Police Officer, a Felony of the Third Degree, was Rmilio Gonzalez, a 24 year old Findlay man. Lynn Sexton, a 32 year old Defiance woman, was also sentenced to prison for Aggravated Trafficking in Drugs, a Felony of the third Degree.

27, 1528 Mustang Dr., Defiance, was indicted for One Count of Possession of a Fentanyl-Related Compound, a Felony of the Fourth Degree. Authorities allege that on August 6, 2024, at a business on N. Clinton St., in Defiance, Canterbury was found in possession of over three grams off a Fentanyl-related compound.
