Northwest State’s gaming and pop culture convention ‘Game Con’ to return June 14

ARCHBOLD, Ohio – Northwest State Community College is bringing back Game Con, “the premier pop culture convention,” on Saturday, June 14th from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The convention is run by Northwest State and NSCC Thunder, the college’s official Esports team. The event is free to attend, and all ages are welcome.

OH-114 to close for 45 days

HAVILAND- State Route 114 will close for 45 days starting April 21, 2025. The closure will begin just east of the intersection of US 127, where the road goes toward Grover Hill. The construction will improve drainage systems along the route. Drivers should take an alternate route using a county road to the north or south to Rd. 123 to continue into Grover Hill during this project.

Antwerp to annex property to prepare for growth

ANTWERP – Paulding County is preparing for its own future growth as major project investment takes place in surrounding counties. This week, the Powell, Ohio based development group BMJW Investments LLC, with affiliate entity MWB Investments LLC, closed on three parcels totaling approximately 89 acres of “ready to develop” property in the northeast corner of the US 24/Highway 49 intersection. This location is on the south end of the Village of Antwerp. Sitting along US 24, the site is 20 miles west of Defiance, Ohio and 15 miles east of the I-469 loop around Fort Wayne, IN. With all the growth taking place in both northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio, this location has unlimited potential for future growth.

Paulding FFA hosts Tractor Drive-in Day and Parade!

In honor of National Ag Day on March 19, the Paulding FFA held their annual Tractor Drive-in Day and Parade to celebrate on Friday, March 21. 18 members drove their tractors to school including Johnny Lipps, Anna Clemens, Makenna Dunham, Jalyn Klopfenstein, Nick Hatcher, Grady Barton, Mariah Klopfenstein, Mackenzie Leatherman, Kayleigh Dunham, Owen Workman, RJ Wirts, Blake Trausch, Ava Leatherman, Aly White, Delaney Johanns Jackson Gunderman, Max and Kalan Burns, and Remington Boroff. The Paulding FFA members and the students who drove tractors showed the elementary students their tractors and allowed them to climb up in the tractors and explore them.

Sweet Shop POP-UP on April 10 to raise money for Caring & Sharing Food Pantry

Bakers and candy makers from around Paulding County are making more than 50 types of handmade sweets to sell at a one-day-only pop-up shop on Thursday, April 10 to benefit the Caring & Sharing Food Pantry. The Sweet Shop will feature many varieties of chocolates and other candy, 20 types of cookies, an array of pies, yeast and sourdough breads, cinnamon rolls, cupcakes and more.
