On 02/24/2025 at approximately 7:40 p.m., Hicksville Police Department Officers were dispatched to a Domestic Disturbance at 651 W. High Street, El Grande Estates in the Village of Hicksville. Adrian San Juan,age 19, and the mother of their child had engaged in a verbal argument. San Juan had been living in in Hicksville, and he is originally from the State of South Carolina. San Juan fled the area before officers arrived.
ANTWERP - The Archers picked up a important win after nearly a month of losses. The Hicksville Aces made the short trip to Antwerp to likewise redeem themselves after a string of defeats reaching back to January. Antwerp would the one to prevail, 46-38.

The Wayne Trace wrestling team traveled to the 46th annual Van Buren Invitational which hosted 31 schools in the competition. Corbin Kimmel, the 120-pound senior, secured the win becoming a four-time champion of the tournament. In the 46 years of the tournament, Kimmel is only the 7th to achieve this success. Wayne Trace holds two of the seven four-time champions, something no other school has accomplished to date. Corbin Kimmel was also awarded the coveted Most Valuable Wrestler of the tournament due to his wrestling and completion of the championship mark.
The Wayne Trace Schools Board of Education met for their Regular Session on January 13, 2025, in the Wayne Trace High School Lecture Room. The Board selected new officers and set committees for the new year.
The Paulding County Board of Elections held its monthly meeting on January 15, delayed due to their usual meeting day falling on a holiday. All members were present, although chairperson David Cline came in late due to unforeseen circumstances. Stan Harmon filled in as chair until Cline arrived. Also present was Penny Duer, who will be replacing David Cline in March. Also present were Director Rosann Laker and Deputy Director Julie Phelan. Also noted as present in the minutes was Paulding Progress editor Jerry Stanford.
Paulding’s girls’ varsity team had a relatively easy night in Ayersville. The Pilots had a rough time against the visiting Panthers.
